About Our Coaches:
Jon Speers heads our coaching staff. Coach Speers
is a former player for the UNC Tar Heels and was a member of the 1991 National Championship team. He brings
almost 20 years of coaching experience to WCLax, where in addition to heading-up our boys programs, he teaches new players
in our camps and clinics.
Karla Andre, our
district-rated lacrosse umpire, leads our girls coaching events. Coach Andre has been the Head Clinician for American
Lacrosse Camp for 31 years. She is a Hall of Fame member, a US Lacrosse Squad Member from 1976-1980, and a member
of the lacrosse US Touring Team to England, Scotland and Wales in 1979. She also has
a Masters of Education degree.
Desiree Cox is a Lees-McRae College Lady Bobcats
lacrosse player and she will be running our Summer Games for middle school and high school girls. She is a former member
of the Ravenwood, Hendersonville and TNLax lacrosse teams. At Lees-McRae she was named to the www.womenslacrosse.com All America All Rookie team. Cox began her collegiate career for the
Lady Bobcats in record setting fashion establishing national and program records in 2008. View the whole article here
